To solve a problem that: much time is required to adjust governors when the governors are separately provided for an elevating operation and for a lowering operation; and the power shutoff timing in the elevating operation and lowering operation and the governor rope holding timing of an emergency stop device are required to be adjusted and assembled.
Governors are changed to one governor and the governor includes: a lowering side transmission means for transmitting the rotation of a governor pulley to an overspeed detector when a car is lowered; an elevating side transmission means for transmitting the rotation of the governor pulley to the same overspeed detector when the car is elevated; a power shutoff mechanism for shutting off power when the car reaches prescribed first overspeed determined for each of the elevating direction and the lowering direction of the car. Since the overspeed detector is configured of one system, there is an effect to require the small adjustment of a contact point of the power shutoff mechanism.
