PURPOSE: To multiply the driving force of a governor by the number of rows of governor weights so as to exhibit high driving force by providing a plurality of rows of governor weights along the axial direction of a rotating shaft in the governor for interlocking other mechanisms by using the centrifugal force of the rotating shaft of an engine or the like.

CONSTITUTION: A driven plate 36 is axially urged to a drive plate 35 integrally fixed to a rotating shaft 26 by an urging means 37, so that governor weights 44 interposed in wedge shaped spaces 42 and 43 formed between both plates 35 and 36 may be sandwiched therein. The governor weights 44 are moved radially outward depending on the increase in centrifugal force following rotation of the rotating shaft 26, and the driven plate 36 is axially displaced by virtue of the force during their movement against the urging means 37. In this case, a plurality of of rows of governor weights 44 (two rows in the figure) are provided along the axial direction. Then, the driving force exhibited by the respective rows of weights 44A and 44B is lowered and then applied to the driven plate 36.
