To provide a grain-oriented solidification casting apparatus with which cooling effect is increased in the case that molten metal poured into a mold is subjected to the grain-oriented solidification.
The molten metal 32 held in a cavity 21 of a mold 20, is subjected to grain-oriented solidification by drawing out the mold 20 disposed at the periphery in a prescribed range from a heating chamber 10 heating the metal for casting a cast product 31 to not lower than the melting temperature. This grain-oriented solidification casting apparatus 100 is provided with a driving rod 42 drawing out the mold 26 from the heating chamber 10, a gas nozzle 52b for rapidly cooling the mold 20 by injecting cooling gas from the inside in the prescribed range disposing the mold 20 and a gas nozzle 52a for rapidly cooling the mold 20 by injecting the cooling gas from the outside in the prescribed range disposing the mold 20. Further, a baffle 15 which does not move even if the driving rod 42 is ascended/descended, is provided and this baffle 15 shuts off radiated heat from the heating chamber 10.
