To provide a grain stirring apparatus wherein grains can be prevented from being dried unevenly and a state that a guide shaft cannot be repaired can be prevented from occurring.
In the stirring apparatus 56, a drive support frame 82 and a driven support frame 80 are reciprocated between a reversing plate 76 and a reversing plate 74 by slanting the axial direction of a drive roll 88 alternately to one side and the other side with respect to an axial direction of the shaft 64. When a reversing lever 116 and slant detection devices 118 and 124 detect that the drive roll 88 is not acceptably slanted with respect to the guide shaft 64, a controller 134 stops a whole operation and simultaneously activates an alarm device to give an alarm. Thus, unhulled rice M can be prevented from being dried unevenly, and the circumference of the guide shaft 64 can be prevented from being worn locally to avoid such a state that the shaft 64 cannot be repaired.
