To make quickly reducible the slant angle of a stirring member when the stirring member is slanted.
In a stirring apparatus 56, a down auger 94 is rotatably supported on a guide shaft 64, and the down auger 94 is made to revolute together with the guide shaft 64 to stir unhulled rice in a grain vessel. The down auger 94 is subjected to resistance of the unhulled rice by its revolution and slanted to a side opposite to a revolution direction of the guide shaft 64. When a mercury switch 136 detects that the down auger 94 is slanted by a specified angle or more, a displacement motor 148 is driven to displace a weight member 150 to a down auger 94 slanting direction side, and revolution of the guide shaft 64 is stopped. Therefore, the auger 94 receives a moment by the displacement of the weight member 150, and the resistance of the unhulled rice acting on the auger 94 is relieved by the revolution of the guide shaft 64 so that the slant angle of the auger 94 can be quickly reduced.
