To provide a grain-storing apparatus which can store grains for a long period, while maintaining the flavor of the grains.
A grain-storing method is characterized by storing the grains in a specific gas prepared by mixing nitrogen gas with about 5 vol. % of oxygen gas and about 5 to 10 vol. % of carbon dioxide at a temperature of about 14 to 15°C at a relative humidity of 90 to 100% for a long period. The grain-storing apparatus is characterized by having a specific gas control unit 20 for receiving an exhaust gas from a grain-storing chamber 10 and then supplying the above specific gas to the grain-storing chamber 10 and disposing an oxygen gas-removing means, a carbon dioxide-supplying means, a nitrogen gas-supplying means, an ethylene gas-removing means and a specific gas cooler in the specific gas control unit 20.
