PURPOSE: To obtain the granular adsorbent which improves the adsorbing properties of uranium, etc. by a method wherein powdery adsorbing active componets are kneaded with a polyacrylic acid hydrazide water solution and granulated.
CONSTITUTION: An approximate 5W35% compound adsorbent such as activated carbon-hydrated titanium oxide, etc. is added to a water solution of approximate 2W5wt% polyacrylic acid hydrazide, kneaded and granulated in fixed granular shapes. The granular adsorbent is left as it is at a temperature of 100°C or less for a few days and changed into an insoluble shape. According to this method, the stable granular adsorbent can be obtained which has excellent adsorption power and mechanical strength in the adsorption of uranium, etc. and does not render polyacrylic acid hydrazide by steeping in water.
