PURPOSE: To freely set a cooling part, to prevent the generation of the defect and flash due to the mold drop, and to automate the molding by covering the endothermic body consisting of the granular magnetic metal over the prescribed part in molding a cast mold where the local cooling of the molten metal and the casting after solidification is possible.
CONSTITUTION: Magnets 2b are provided on the prescribed parts of a metallic pattern 2 corresponding to the parts to be cooled of a casting, and the granular magnetic endothermic body 3 is attracted to these parts to realize the molding of the mold sand 5. The granular magnetic endothermic body 3 to be used is the granular ferromagnetic metal covered with the binding material consisting of clay, and the magnets 2b are the electromagnets. A molding equipment is provided with a granular endothermic body feeding means to throw the granular endothermic body to the metallic pattern having magnets at the parts corresponding to the part to be cooled of the casting, a die reversing means to reverse the metallic pattern on which the endothermic body is loaded and to discharge the excessive endothermic body, a molding sand feeding means, and a carrying means of the squeeze foot, a molding flask and a mold.
