Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a granular product containing a live mold of useful microorganism having improved water-vapor resistance, and oxygen barrier properties, by attaching dried powder of the useful microorganism to a core material component with a specific binder into a layer state.

CONSTITUTION: A component to be bonded consists of ≥5wt% anhydrous binder (edible ingredient such as fats and oils, lipid, emulsifying agent, etc.) having 25W 60°C melting point and ≤95wt% dried powder of useful microorganism, and attached to ≥0.1wt% core material component (edible substance such as crystal of granulated sugar, blend of saccharide and starch, etc.) into a layer state. The desired granulate is obtained without destroying the useful microorganism in a fluid granulating tank.
