Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of heat recovery by providing a nozzle device for atomization which sprays a high-velocity gas to the molten slag flowing down into a granulation chamber and a scattering device for slag particles which diffuses and scatters the slag particles.

CONSTITUTION: A nozzle device 7 for atomization consists of an upper nozzle 7a for atomization and a lower nozzle 7b for atomization. The nozzles 7a, 7b spray a high-velocity gas concentrically toward the same spot of the molten slag which is flowed down through a supply trough 2 into a granulation chamber 1. A scattering device 8 for slag particles acts on the slag particles at the spot where the sprays from the nozzles 7a, 7b are concentrated, thereby diffusing and scattering the slag particles in the chamber 1. It is therefore possible to provide the single nozzle 8a for scattering and to control the same independently of the nozzle device 7.
