PURPOSE: To contrive to reduce transport cost, by adding an emulsion used in granulation, which is prepared by emulsifying water, heavy oil and a surfactant, to a coal/water slurry and granulating the resulting mixture by flowing the same to a pipeline having a length enough to holding the same for a specific stay time.
CONSTITUTION: An emulsion used in granulation, which is prepared by emulsifying water, heavy oil and a surfactant, is added to a coal/water slurry and the resulting mixture is flowed to a pipeline having a length enough to hold a stay time of at least 30min or more between the adding spot and an objective point to perform granulation. As a result, power required in granulation can be reduced as compared with a conventional method and transport cost can be reduced to a large extent. Further, granulation in a pipe, that is, in a narrow area can be performed and, because it is unnecessary to use a stirring tank, enhancement of safety can be attained and the scattering degree of coal dust can be reduced.
