PURPOSE: To attain a high speed graphic-recognizing processing with high degree recognition and recognizing theory by so forming the titled system that an SB sort code obtained at the stage of sorting a symbol (SB) and connecting line, and a candidate-selection data are compares to select a dictionary and by deciding a candidate dictionary by comparing a candidate selection data and an SB circumscribing frame data.
CONSTITUTION: A tablet 1 outputs the up-down state of a pen and the coordinates of the pen's writing position. A character sorting part 2 outputs the stoke data of an SB and a connector line. An SB sorting part 3 outputs and SB circumscribed frame data part 1 SB and an SB sorting code to let an SB sorting memory 4 store them, and also stores a stroke coordinate data in a 1 SB stroke memory 5. The data in the memory 5 is normalized by utilizing that suits to the format of a dictionary pattern memory 9, and is stores in a normalized-pattern memory 6. A dictionary selecting part 7 compares the SB sorting code in the memory 4 with the dictionary-selection data and outputs a dictionary selecting signal, and executes the selection of dictionary and the decision of the candidate through a pattern matching part 8 and a deciding part 10.
