PURPOSE: To prevent the thermal crown of a roll used for carrying, cooling and direct electric conduction of a band metal.

CONSTITUTION: A metallic alkoxide is impregnated on the graphite roll and a hydrolysis treatment is executed at ≤20O°C, and after burning at 1800-2800°C, either one among metal, ceramics or cermet is thermal-sprayed on the surface of the graphite roll. By this method, as the thermal crown can be prevented, the deformation and the meandering of the band metal can be prevented and the band metal can be produced without dropping the line speed. Further, the roll cooling can efficiently be executed in the good quality, and in the case of using for electric conductive roll, the electric conductive heating without developing the spark can be executed.
