This graphitization furnace continuously produces the graphite by providing a furnace body 1 with electrodes 3, 4 making a pair across carbon powder and granular materials 2 packed into this furnace body 1, discharging the formed graphite from the furnace body 1 while heating and graphitizing the carbon powder and granular materials 2 existing between both electrodes 3, 4 by energizing the electrodes 3, 4 across the same and successively supplying the carbon powder and granular materials 2 of the amt. meeting the discharged amt. of the graphite. In such a case, the furnace is provided with a tamping rod 6 which is retractably disposed in the furnace body 1, is inserted toward the forming position of the bridge and removes the bridge by applying impact thereto.
