The graphitizing electric furnace is equipped with feeding means 2 for supplying the carbon powder K1 into the furnace main body, graphite powder recovery means 3B for absorbing and recovering the carbon powder presents in a graphitizing zone in the vicinity of the center between the electrodes and inert gas feeding means 5A which simultaneously feeds the inert gas into the furnace main body with absorbing the graphite powder by the graphite powder recovery means.
