Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance the crushing efficiency of gravel by installing axially a small diameter roller of a crushing mechanism at a higher position than a large diameter roller through a vibration means.
CONSTITUTION: A large diameter roller 13 of paired rollers 13, 15, each having a different diameter from the other, with teeth 11 carved at right angles with an axial center, is axially attached to a drive shaft 19 on a base 17. In addition, a small diameter roller 15 is axially attached at a higher position than the large diameter roller 13 through a vibration means 23. A crushing mechanism 29 comprises the teeth 11, both rollers 13, 15, whose crests 25 and valleys 27 are engaged with each other with an appropriate space left in between. Further, gravel is fed into a clearance between both rollers 13, 15 from a gravel hopper 43. Then, the gravel is crushed by a pressing force generated by engagement between both rollers 13, 15 of the crushing mechanism 29, a pressing force generated by vibration of the small diameter roller 15, a pressing force generated by the self-weight of the small diameter roller 15 and a rubbing force generated by the peripheral velocity difference between both rollers 13, 15.
