This gravity type downward transport device comprises a wire (towing member) 41 extending from a pulley (rotating body) 3 downward and vertically moving according to the rotation of the pulley 3, a load receiving table 5 connected to the wire 41 and vertically moving together with the wire 41, a counter wire (counter towing member) 42 extending from the pulley 3 downward and vertically moving in the reverse direction of the wire 41 according to the rotation of the pulley 3, and a counterweight 6 set to such a weight that the load receiving table 5 connected to the counterweight 42 and on which a work (carried object) W is not placed can be upwardly driven through the pulley 3 and the wire 41 and that the load receiving table 5 on which the work W is placed can be downwardly moved through the pulley 3 and the wire 41.
