PURPOSE: To sufficiently feed a coolant to a grinding point and to prevent grinding burning by providing the means for micro-moving in the reverse direction on each fixed interval the movement in the horizontal direction orthogonal with the rotary shaft line of the grindstone wheel of a work for the grindstone wheel.
CONSTITUTION: At the moving end in the horizontal direction orthogonal with the rotary shaft line of a grindstone wheel 24, a notch in the vertical direction is given to the grindstone wheel 24 for a work W and the work W is moved in the horizontal direction orthogonal with the rotary shaft line of the grindstone wheel 24 with rotating the grindstone wheel 24. In this case, the work W is moved slightly in the reverse direction to this moving direction by reversing the servo motor 12 for an X axis table 11 on each fixed interval by a reverse direction micro-moving means (consisting of a counter 38 and a returnpulse generating circuit 39). As a result, a coolant can sufficiently be fed to the grinding point of the work W and grindstone wheel 24 and the generation of a grinding burning can be prevented.
