Abstract:
To provide a grinding device, which can grind a work-piece into a columnar shape and a shape having a planar part, with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A grinding device 1 comprises: a main shaft 10 and a core pressing base 20 for holding an optical element W (a work-piece); a grindstone shaft 40, arranged in a direction crossing a direction of the main shaft 10, to which a grindstone 41 is attached; a motor 31 for rotating the main shaft (driving means for rotating the work-piece) for rotating the optical element W; and a control part 60 that performs first control by which the optical element W is ground into a columnar shape using the grindstone 41 while rotating the optical element W by the motor 31 for rotating the main shaft and second control by which the optical element W is ground to form a planar part using the grindstone 41 while stopping rotation of the optical element W.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
