PURPOSE: To increase a peripheral grinding speed and reduce the working cost by connecting a high-frequency vibration generator system and a high-frequency vibrator directly to the turning shaft of a grinding wheel.

CONSTITUTION: A high-frequency vibration generator system 3 and a high-fre quency vibrator 4 are directly connected to a turning shaft 2 of a grinding wheel 1, while a high frequency vibration given to the turning shaft 2 is transmit ted to the center of a body of the grinding wheel 1 as radially spread toward the circumference of the body of the grindstone 1. Thus, the surface of a grind ing layer 6 on the circumference of the grinding wheel 1 is rotated and simulta neously the high frequency vibration is generated, through which a workpiece 5 is ground.
