CONSTITUTION: A grinding wheel is formed into a specified shape matching to a working shape, after a work W has been installed onto a turning shaft 5 provided in parallel with the rotating shaft 115A of the grinding wheel, the grinding wheel is drawn close to/parted from the work W while the grinding wheel is being rotated by the control of a NC means 7, and simultaneously, the work W is revolved with the turning shaft 5 revolved, so that grinding is thereby performed. In this place, when a dresser (forming means) 13 is provided, which has a rotating shaft in parallel with the rotating shaft of the grinding wheel, the grinding wheel can be formed into a desirable shape with the dresser 13 moved right underneath the grinding wheel.
