PURPOSE: To obtain a high-quality thin sheet and reduce the consumption unit of cleaning liquid by executing grinding descaling of a surface and removal of surface flaws of the thin sheet while applying air purge in a thin sheet manufacturing equipment.
CONSTITUTION: The place (a) where the air purge device is installed and the shape of the air purge device (b) are shown in a figure. Four air purge devices 6 are equipped in addition to the conventional grinding liquid nozzles 4, therefore ground scraps can be removed nearly completely. The devices 6 are provided orthogonally to the advancing direction of the sheet and in order to drop the ground scraps from the thin sheet, air is blown toward the end of the sheet. Consequently, the ground scraps can be removed without increasing the amt. of grinding liquid, the generation rate of thin sheet scratch is greatly decreased and the frequency of change of cleaning liquid in a thin sheet purifying section at the poststage of the grinding line is reduced.
