PURPOSE: To permit the bent portion at the back of the contact point of the blade of the scissors to be readily formed in a simple operation by previously making the grinding surface itself formed on the peripheral surface of a grinding wheel bent inwardly.

CONSTITUTION: The blade 1 is securely placed at a fixed position, and a grinding wheel 7 is arranged so that a grinding surface 7c inwardly bent contacts with the blade 1 from the upper portion to the lower portion of a handle 9 side periphery 3a of a contact point 3 of the blade 1. Grinding is started from one end of the periphery 3a, with a rotating shaft 8 of the grinding wheel 7 inclined at a fixed angle to the longitudinal direction of the blade 1. With these conditions, the grinding wheel 7 is rotated to start grinding, and then it is gradually moved toward the other end of the periphery 3a in the direction of A. In doing this, the rotating shaft 8 is invariably located on a tangent of the circular contour of the periphery 3a. Thus, the bent portion at the back of the contact point 3 of the blade 1 is ground.
