Abstract:
To provide a grinding method by which a to-be-ground-part can be ground at a low cost and with constant grinding efficiency.SOLUTION: A grinding method is a method for grinding a cylindrical part Wa, a shoulder part 32b, and a recessed R part 32c by means of an abrasive wheel 33. In the grinding method, in a cross-section passing through the axis of the cylindrical part and the axis of the abrasive wheel during grinding with the abrasive wheel, if an intersection formed by intersecting of the outer contour of a projecting R part and the outer contour of the shoulder part before grinding, and an intersection formed by intersecting of the outer contour of the projecting R part and the recessed R part before grinding are each defined as a reference intersection P1, an angle formed between a tangent of the projecting R part at the reference intersection P1 and a cutting direction of the abrasive wheel is defined as a reference contact angle θ, and a distance from the axis of the cylindrical part to the outer peripheral surface of the abrasive wheel are defined as a reference radius, the cutting speed of the abrasive wheel is changed based on the reference contact angle and the reference radius so that respective grinding efficiencies Z' at the reference intersections P1 on the shoulder part and the recessed R part are identical.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4B
