Abstract:
To automatize grinding while maintaining high machining accuracy without need of work-reinforcing material.SOLUTION: A grinding method is such one as to relatively move a work table supporting a workpiece and a grinding wheel to grind the workpiece to a thin-walled shape work piece by the grinding wheel, and includes: a rough grinding step of roughly machining the workpiece into a thick-walled shape thicker than the final thin-walled shape of the work piece; and a finish grinding step of finishing the thick-walled shape workpiece to the final thin-walled shape. An area ranging from one side end part to the other side end part in plan view of the workpiece is divided into a plurality of machining areas, one machining area is subjected to the rough machining and the finishing toward a workpiece support part from the one end part machining area while the machining area of the other side end part is left as the workpiece support part, and thereafter, a next machining area is subjected to the rough machining and the finishing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
