Title:
GRINDING STONE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5748478
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a grinding stone which does not suffer from cracking and hardly suffers from loading by mixing 15W45% by weight of vitrified bond with a bonding material containing a metal bond as a main material.

CONSTITUTION: A grinding stone consists of grain 2 of cubic system boron nitride or diamond and a bonding material 1 containing a metal bond as a main material and 15W45 weight percent of vitrified bond intermixed with the metal bodn. Such a grinding stone can be obtained by shaping the material into a required shape of a grind stone and sintering the same. Each of the metal bond and vitrified bond to be blended may be a conventional one and not limited to a specific one. If the amount of vitrified bond is below a predetermined level, the grinding stone may suffer from loading. On the contrary, if the amount of vitrified bond is above the predetermined level, the grinding stone will not suffer from loading but may suffer from cracking.
