PURPOSE: To enable to manufacture freely a long cylindrical grindstone, a wide flat grindstone or a long belt-shaped grindstone, by a method wherein a flexible plate made of either rubber or plastics set with a great number of chips is sticked on the surface of a base body of a grindstone.

CONSTITUTION: In order to secure chips 1 to a metallic wire net, for example, the chips 1 is turned into a sintered state by heating and boosting the whole of a metallic mold provided with a great number of holes for the chips charged with raw chips and placed on the stainless steel wire net 5 within a furnace. A flexible plate 2 set with chips is made on the surface of a flexible boardlike unit by burying this combined unit in a powdered layer made of either rubber or the other synthetic resin which has been set in a metallic mold for hot pressing, filling further the surface of the wire net 5 up to the vicinity of a base part of the chips 1 with this powder, which is fired by boosting and heating after placing punch for the hot pressing on the same. Thus, a long cylindrical grindstone, a flat grindstone and a long belt-shaped grindstone can be manufactured freely.
