The α-region of the outer circumference of a transparent protection layer of a grip part 1b of a rod pipe 1 of a fishing rod has a grip part composed of a rough coating layer 6 containing particles 5 and formed by applying a coating material produced by adding a slightly excessive curing material to a resin coating material composed of epoxy resin or urethane resin mixed with the particles 5 formed by using a pigment. The β-region of the outer circumference of the transparent protection layer 4 of the grip part 1b of the rod pipe 1 is provided with a grip part composed of a transparent smooth soft coating layer 7 having high friction coefficient and formed by applying a coating material produced by adding a slightly insufficient amount of a curing material to a resin paint composed of soft urethane or polyurethane. The γ-region of the outer circumference of the transparent protection layer 4 of the grip part 1b of the rod pipe 1 is provided with a grip part 9 composed of a rough coating layer 7 formed by applying a coating material produced by adding a slightly excess amount of a curing material to a resin paint composed of an epoxy resin or urethane containing pigment particles 8 having a size slightly larger than the particles of the α-region.
