PURPOSE: To machine a work at an arbitrary angle by rotatably setting the work to a machining line in the setting device for the work of a bender, a cutter, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A plate material 3 as a work is gripped by means of gripping means 19 mounted to a movable base 9 and set to a machine tool 1 conducting machining, such as bending, cutting, etc. A rotary member 13 is set up onto the movable base 9, and a frame body section 15 with the gripping means 19 is mounted to the rotary member 13. The plate material 3 is positioned by the collision line AA' of the gripping means 19 and a positioning member 17, and gripped by means of the gripping means 19. The positioning member 17 is retreated, and the plate material 3 is turned together with the frame body section 15 by means of a rotary means 11, and positioned at a predetermined angle to the machining line KK' of the machine tool. The movable base 9 is advanced at a prescribed distance by means of a moving means 7, and the plate material is machined by the machine tool.
