To provide a gripper which is in a simple suspension structure, is excellent in handleability and is inexpensive, for allowing efficient transportation work when laying pavement blocks and efficient pull-out work of laid blocks during repair.

A rotary shaft of the suspension structure is simplified from five parts to one part, a pawl width is appropriately narrowed and shallowed, and a hard and expensive pawl part is made interchangeable. Thus, a pawl is changed to the one suited to the shape of a block, and by moving the position of the pawl, the block in a different size can be gripped. The gripper is used for transportation and pull-out and is easily manufactured, and the handleability is improved.
