Abstract:

To provide a groove aligning device for a ball screw shaft capable of automatically and accurately indexing the center position of a thread groove by relatively moving a measuring sensor in three directions of the radial direction, axial direction and rotating direction of the screw shaft, and detecting the position of a thread groove shoulder part.

This device for aligning a grinding wheel with the thread groove Wm of the ball screw shaft W is provided with the noncontact type sensor made vertically movable relative to the ball screw shaft W by a lift means (air cylinder 2) and made reciprocatable together with the wheel spindle stock of a grinding machine relative to a work W. The measurement point of the sensor 8 is set slightly on the inside from the outer diameter of the screw shaft (work W) cut-machined with the thread groove in advance, positions of both shoulder parts of the thread groove across the measurement point are detected in the rotating direction of the screw shaft and the horizontal direction, and the center position of the thread groove Wm is indexed.
