To provide a groove processing device which can align groove positions of pipe bodies between plural pipe bodies in pipe body groove processing in a panel material in which the plural pipe bodies are connected by a flat plate, and a method for use of the device.SOLUTION: A groove processing device 1 for processing a pipe body 91 of a panel material 9 in which plural pipe bodies 91 are connected comprises: a clamp component 2 for clamping the pipe body 91; a cutting component 3 for performing groove processing of the pipe body 91; a moving component 4 for moving the cutting component 3 in a direction approaching and separating from the pipe body 91; a recognition component 5 which recognizes a difference between a target clamp position of each pipe body 91, which is determined so that grooves of the plural pipe bodies 91 are aligned and an actual clamp position which is an actual clamp position when the clamp component 2 clams the pipe body 91; and a control part 6 which calculates a cutting amount of the cutting component 3 on the basis of the difference, and so controls the moving component 4 as to move the cutting component 3 toward the pipe body 91 by only the calculated cutting amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
