Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically lock a cover to a frame while preventing rain water flowing into a manhole and preventing a cover from being floated up by a pressure in the manhole.
SOLUTION: A ground manhole comprises a dual purpose bag-like plying and hook hole 10 formed in a cover 3, an exclusive hook 20 incorporating an engaging part 21 adapted to be engaged with a hook engaging part 12 of the hole 10, a locking protrusion 5 projected from the inner periphery of the frame 1, a float preventing automatic lock members 6 and another float preventing automatic lock member 6a suspended from the cover 3, and a lock piece 7 and another lock piece 7a bridging on the float preventing lock members 6, 6a. The hook engaging part 12 is plied by the engaging part 21 of the exclusive hook 20 so that the lock pieces 7, 7a are moved along the outer peripheral surface of the lock protrusion 5 for unlocking. When operation is made so as to allow the cover 3 to be lifted up by a pressure in the manhole, the lock pieces 7, 7a are engaged with the outer peripheral surface of the lock protrusion 5, and accordingly, the cover 3 is prevented from being lifted up further.
