Title:
GROUND SIDEWAYS FLOW PREVENTIVE STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3677694
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage thereby even if a sideways flow is caused since the ground is liquefied by an earthquake or the like by constructing underground walls embedded in an unliquefied layer on a periphery of a structure such as a building and a bridge pier constructed on the weak ground.
SOLUTION: A footing 2 of a structure 1 constructed on the ground G where an unliquefied layer G2 exists under a liquefied layer G1 of a surface layer part, is composed of piles 3 whose tip parts 3b are embedded in a hard support layer G3 under the unliquefied layer G2. The rectangular cross-sectional long sides of columnar underground walls 5 are arranged at a prescribed interval in the direction orthogonal to the structure 1 in positions separate by a prescribed distance from respective side surfaces of the structure 1, and are constructed by embedding lower end parts in the unliquefied layer G2. Therefore, the respective underground walls 5 have high rigidity to external force in the direction orthogonal to the side surfaces of the structure 1, and sharply reduce energy by a sideways flow, and can prevent the exertion of its influence on the footing 2 of the structure 1. When the underground walls 5 and 5 are integrally joined together by a continuous wall, rigidity can be improved further.
