To provide a polynucleotide, a polypeptide, a vector and a host cell each of which is useful for preventing, diagnosing and/or treating GBS (group B Streptococcus) infection, and to provide use thereof.
An isolated polynucleotide is provided which encodes a polypeptide having at least 80% identity with a second polypeptide including a sequence selected from an antigen, particularly an antigen of GBS (Streptococcus agalactiae), or its fragment or analogue. The polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide, a pharmaceutical composition, a vector including a polynucleotide operably joined to an expression regulatory domain, a host cell which may be transfected using the vector, a method for producing the polypeptide comprising culturing the above host cell under conditions proper to expression, are also provided. The antigen is useful for preventing, diagnosing and/or treating GBS (group B Streptococcus) infection.
