Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for analyzing group delay between multimode optical fiber modes which obtains a propagation time delay difference between main modes constituting LP modes by measuring the LP modes separated by polarized waves.SOLUTION: The method for analyzing group delay between multimode optical fiber modes according to the present invention utilizes the fact that the state as the mode does not change even if the optical frequency is changed in the main mode. Test light (or two kinds of pulse lights with different repetition frequencies) is input to a measurement object optical fiber twice by changing the optical frequency, and the delay time difference is calculated by comparing the output light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
