PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a growth agent for multicellular algae that solves the various problems concerning the laver aqua-culturing, as well as also even for a general multicellular algae, that strengthens the resistance to various stresses, and promotes the growth; and also a production method for multicellular algae by aqua-culturing using the same.SOLUTION: A growth agent for multicellular algae according to the present invention has any of Zerunbon, sanguinarine, salicylic acid, polyamine, geldanamycin, isothianate, trimethyl glycine, perillaldehyde, citral, carotene, lycopene, zeaxanthin, cryptoxanthin, lutein, phenyl ethyl isothiocyanate, ursolic acid, Yabatsui, arnica, Oguruma, Hosobaoguruma, Salvia, Majuramu, Scutellaria, Youshunsha, Hedychium, galangal, angelica, pepper, mandarin orange or Citrus aurantium, as a main component.SELECTED DRAWING: None
