To prevent a ground cover from being deteriorated or a base from corroding by water that enters a gap between the base and the ground cover and is stagnant there, in a guard fence which comprises the base fixed by an anchor bolt to the ground cover formed from concrete at a side edge of a road or a bridge, and is comprised of struts provided in parallel at suitable intervals along a length direction of the ground cover on the ground cover and beams laterally framed between the struts.
At both sides of a lower face of a base 4, pedestals 5 having the equal height are provided protrusively. Therefore, when a guard fence is installed on a ground cover 9, a channel 12 is formed between the base 4 and the ground cover 9, thereby draining rainwater flowing therein.
