Abstract:

To provide a system and method for facilitating guard bandwidth independent mapping and de-mapping of a bandwidth in a wireless communication system.

To map symbols to a bandwidth independent of guard tones, a broadcast message is encoded into a plurality of broadcast symbols (502); and mapped to the entire bandwidth (504); and the guard tones are zeroed out (506). Then, the broadcast symbols and the guard tones are transformed to a time domain (508), and transmitted as a broadcast signal (510).
