The guard member of the saddle type irregular ground travelling vehicle comprises a disk brake device composed of a brake disk and a brake calliper 111 arranged inside a wheel, right and left front wheels supported by a front upper arm and a front lower arm 41 of an independent suspension system respectively, an inboard side guard member 102 attached to the front lower arm 41 in order to protect the front and central side of a drive shaft 93, and an outboard side guard member 105 attached to a knuckle 88 in order to protect the front side of the drive shaft 93 and the knuckle 88 side. The outboard side guard member 105 is formed such that a tilting portion 105k at its tip end can be extended in the diagonally inward and backward direction of the car body.
