Abstract:

To obtain a guest-host reflection type liquid crystal display element having high reflection brightness, a high contrast ratio and thin thickness.

In a guest-host reflection type liquid crystal display element provided with a λ/4 plate, one sheet of a polymer film having 100-125 nm and 135-160 nm retardation values when measured with light having 450 nm and 590 nm wavelengths respectively is utilized as the λ/4 plate.
