This device is provided with a focus navigator for executing retrieval processing by a retrieval engine on the basis of cursor movement instruction input information and for deciding the cursor movement destination, and a focus manager for executing the movement processing of a cursor according to the movement destination instruction information of the cursor decided by the focus navigator. The focus navigator executes the cursor movement destination decision processing according to a cursor movement destination selection algorithm for selecting a single cursor movement destination on the basis of the cursor movement instruction input information. Thus, it is possible to efficiently decide the cursor movement destination based on the user input.
