PURPOSE: To enable an elevator utilizer to wait for recovery or rescue of an accident without having a feeling of uneasiness or impatience by providing a means for selecting a message respectively corresponding to a detection signal of an abnormal condition selecting circuit and an information signal from a supervisory center and for informing of the message the utilizer in a case and a boarding spot.

CONSTITUTION: When an abnormal condition is generated in an elevator, in addition to transmitting to a supervisory center 3 a signal detected in an abnormal condition selecting circuit 5, this detected signal is input to a message selector device 9 selecting a message corresponding to the input detection signal. Further in accordance with a status of the elevator, a control means selects informing device 10, 11 informing at least one of the passengers in a cage 20 and a get-in spot 21 of the message. By the constitution thus obtained, information can be presented at once to a utilizer of the elevator despite an in-cage call button 22 for whether or not it is operated.
