Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide pad for a cutting tool.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a guide pad (6) for a cutting tool. The guide pad is formed with at least one sliding surface (13), and the sliding surface is convexly curved as viewed in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (8) of the guide pad, in which each sliding surface has two convexly curved sliding sub-surfaces (13') separated by a fluid conveying structure (20) longitudinally extending in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis. The fluid conveying structure (20), as viewed in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (8), is planar or has a convexly curved shape having a radius R2 of curvature larger than the radius R1 of the sliding surface (13).
