Abstract:
PURPOSE:To achieve an automatic centering function and enhance the durability of a guide bushing, by fitting the bushing in the body of a guide and then securing the guide body with elastic members in an outer shell. CONSTITUTION:A rod guide 4 comprises a stepped annular body 5 and a bushing 6 fitted in the central part of the body. Elastic members 7 are provided between the annular grooves of the peripheral surfaces of large and small-diameter portions 5a, 5b of the guide 4 and the inside surfaces of an outer shell 1 and a cylinder 2 which face the peripheral surfaces of the large and small-diameter portions 5a, 5b, so that the guide is supported in an automatically centerable state. As a result, a piston rod 3 and the bushing 6 are kept from coming into nonuniform contact with each other and undergoing abnormal wear.
