To prevent a web from generating wrinkles or the surface shape of a guide roll from being transferred, when the web passes through the guide roll in the guide roll of a printing machine.
A spiral satin-finished part 17 is formed on the surface of the guide roll 15. In the satin-finished part 17, the turning direction becomes reverse at the middle of the guide roll 15, and is continued (connected) in the middle. Wrinkles are not generated in the web 14, since the web expands to the X5 direction by the satin-finished part 17, when the web moves to the X4 direction contacting with the guide roll 15. Since the satin-finished part 17 does not have recessed parts like the conventional spiral grooves, the surface shape of the guide roll (shape of the satin-finished part) will not be transferred to the web 14.
