Title:
GUIDE SHIP TO DOCK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10100987
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an improved guide ship to a dock which is capable of efficiently running in any direction, forward, backward, port-ward or starboard- ward.

A guide ship 1 to a doch is formed in elliptical shape with the bottom 12 being flat, the ratio of the width to the length being greater to provide a shallow draught. The guide ship arranged in opposition with the longitudinal axis of the bottom on a diagonal line has two Z-drivers 8, 10 360°-rotatable around a center shaft 24, a pair of heels 4, 6 arranged outside the Z- drivers to improve maneuverability and increase directional stability and a flaring 14 provided between the bottom and the flat bumper 26, so that the guide ship can easily operate in any directions and improve its stability. The heels are extended downward from the drivers to prevent the drivers from arriving at a seabottom and operate as supports for a hull when the guide ship is entered into a dock.
