Abstract:
A piercing or elongating rolling mill with superimposed rolls (2)3 mounted rotatably within a stand 4 is provided with apparatus for supporting opposed guide shoes 22(23) of the fixed or rotary type on corresponding guide- shoe carriers 28 provided with pivots 29. The apparatus comprises, for each of the opposed guide shoes an arm 7 which extends, outside the stand, parallel to the rolling axis and is provided in an intermediate position with a support within which is located the pivot 29 for the guide-shoe carrier. The arm 7 has one end hinged 11 to a supporting member 9 of the stand 4, and the other end connected to an adjustable support member 15, 16.
