PURPOSE: To guide a blind person from a starting point to a destination without depending on a guide dog or acting based on memory by instructing it by a first instructing means that the prescribed distance of a route is achieved and instructing a moving direction by a second instructing means.
CONSTITUTION: In the lower end of a main body 12a for a stick 12, a bearing member 14 is fixed and to this bearing member 14, a shaft 16a of a wheel 16 is held so as to be rotated. Further, in this side of the bearing member 14, a generator or motor 18 is fixed as a distance measuring means to measure the moving distance. In the intermediate part of the main body 12a for the stick, an enclosure 24 is fitted and a vibration gyro 26 is housed as a direction detecting means. Accordingly, the direction of a whole guiding device 10, namely, the moving direction can be detected by this vibration gyro 26. On the front surface of this is enclosure 24, ten keys 120, etc., are set to select the starting point and destination and the blind person can arrive at the destination according to the guide of a microcomputer 100.
