PURPOSE: To allow the application of a coating material on a material to be coated without projecting the same from the coating surface and to make the operation easy and rapid by providing a cover body which is disposed around a nozzle and has a sealing surface in contact with the material to be coated to enclose the coating surface of the material to be coated.

CONSTITUTION: The powdery coating material is electrified and is sprayed by air flow onto the material to be coated to apply the material. An electrode 10 for electrification is provided in the front end part of a gun body 2 having a through-hole 4 communication with a coating material tank housing the coating material via a switching means for turning on and off the supply of the coating material and the nozzle 7 having an ejection port 9 for discharging the coating material by being communicated with the through-hole 4 are provided. The sealing surface 11 in contact with the material to be waited is provided to enclose the deposition surface of the material to be coated and the cover body 3 which is slidable with the gun body 2 and is energized forward is disposed around the nozzle 7. The air flow from the ejection port 9 is released by a discharge port 12. As a result, the coating material is applied on the material to be coated without projecting the same from the coating surface and the rapid operation is performed.
